Underserved People Groups of Tucson
Description: This potential hotspot is the top three underserved people groups of Tucson
People Group #1 Hispanic population: The Hispanic population in greater Tucson exceeds 35% of 1 million people yet we have 6 very small churches that are traditional. We need some new church plants that reach young second and third generation Hispanics in Tucson.
People Group #2 African American Population: The African American Population is the third largest population in the Greater Tucson area and we have 1 African American church. We believe that this plant could be a regional church located in Central Tucson.
People Group #3 Refugee Populations: In the last 10 years in Tucson we have had over 10,000 refugees land here. This number is growing every year. We have made an effort to take care of physical and logistic needs, but have done virtually nothing to plant churches for these people. The top refugee groups in Tucson right now are people from Iraq, Bhutan/Nepal, and Burma. Please pray that God would blaze the trail so that we can begin to reach these people groups in Tucson.
